Rolling into the winter season in Mount Emei, Sichuan, China, the tourism board is excited to announce the starting of the Snow and Hot Spring Carnival. Within this period, tourists from Sichuan, Chongqing, XiaXi, Guangdong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangxi, Hubei, Yunnan and Guizhou would enjoy an hour of free ski at LeiDongPing after presenting an entrance ticket for Mount Emei which is bought at half price, excluding the peak season during Chinese New Year.

Besides that the tourism board has proudly announced that the entrance ticket and cable car ticket for all tourists (local and international) would be on huge promotion. Starting from December 20th to March 31st 2015 (except Chinese New Year), Mount Emei entrance ticket would be discounted to RMB90 per person (normal price RMB185); Golden Peak Cable Car would be priced at RMB50 for a return trip (up RMB30, down RMB20) and the Wan Nian Cable car would be priced at RMB50 for a return trip (up RMB30, down RMB20).

According to reports, starting from mid December, the first high-speed railway in the south-west area would be on its launch. The convenience from this new public transport benefits all tourists as the travel time between Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to Mount Emei would be massively shorten to only an hour 15 minutes from the usual 5 hours due to transit.

A note to all tourists, during the winter season, the road into the mountain could easily be frozen due to the extremely cold weather. As a safety concern to all tourists, the authority might implement traffic control at various points of the mountain, depending of the level of snow in the mountain. All tourists would have to transit to the tour buses at these control points to get up the mountain. Private cars are strictly not allowed to drive up the mountain.
